How long you have been a member at CFSC: Whole half of a decade.

How you got started at CFSC: I was watching ESPN and the CrossFit games came on. I thought to myself, those guys are ripped what in the world are they doing. That’s when I googled CrossFit and found a gym half a mile from my work (CFSC).

Favorite CrossFit movement: ring muscle ups/ ghds

Least favorite CrossFit movement: DEADLIFTS

Favorite healthy food/meal: Everything! But if I had to choose one I would go with watermelon.

Favorite part about CFSC: I have been going to the 11oclock class for almost 5 years. So when I go to the gym, it’s like a fun family reunion every day.

Something we don’t know about you: I used to play ping-pong every day for 1-2 hours for two years straight.

Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: LISTEN TO YOUR COACH! They are there to help you not to hurt you.

How long you have been a member at CFSC: 20 months

How you got started at CFSC: Passed by the street sign for almost 2 years and decided to email and ask about it. Was tired of paying for YMCA or Planet Fitness and not actually going. I had no idea what Crossfit was, Olympic lifting, or anything.
Favorite CrossFit movement: Deadlift, Pistols, Toes 2 Bar, Back Squat, Air Squats, GHD, lol….the list goes on.

Least favorite CrossFit movement: Overhead Squat/S2OH

Favorite healthy food/meal: Paleo Mug cake or Protein Pancakes, Chicken, Sweet Potato anything.

Favorite part about CFSC: The variety it offers, the support we get, the friends we make. Every day I have the opportunity to try new things, try a heavier weight or more reps; to just do better than the day/week/month prior. It’s something that I have managed to stay committed to and hope to keep it as a part of my life.
Something we don’t know about you: I still eat standing up a lot, from when I was in the military. I was in regular active duty Army in 2002, had honorable medical discharge after suffering 3 pelvic fractures. I also have major untreated ADD lol…JK most of you already know that!

Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: Don’t make excuses. Don’t compare yourself to others, understand that it will take TIME. Be patient, appreciate your progress, give high fives to everyone, and keep working hard. We all have to start somewhere. Onramp class was definitely night and day to where I am at now. I embrace the progress and truly take every day as a challenge to get better. You will get as much out of it as you choose to put into it. Be careful though, it’s addicting.
